Ezra Stiles College Fellowships & Awards:
Gary Stein Memorial Summer Fellowships (max. $1,500) are awarded in honor of Gary Stein (ES ‘76) for student summer projects that utilize research to help bring about practical effects of a scientific, social, or educational nature. More information and application are available on the Student Grants Database. The deadline to apply will be announced by the Head of College Office in January and is typically set for mid-late March each academic year.
The John E. Linck and Alanne Headland Linck Summer Fellowships (max. $2,500) are awarded to Ezra Stiles students for an internship or project of personal educational value or humanitarian service to others. More information and application are available on the Student Grants Database. The Head of College Office will announce the deadline to apply in January.
Mellon Undergraduate Research Awards (max. $500) are awarded on a rolling basis to Ezra Stiles seniors for work on senior essays and projects; Recipients are required to present their work at the Ezra Stiles Mellon Senior Forum. Information regarding joining the Mellon Forum and applying for Mellon Research Awards will be emailed to members of the senior class in the Fall. Contact Carol Martin for information.
Council of the Heads of College Awards:
Richter Summer Fellowships are awarded for independent study and research, not for mere travel, work or enrollment in a school. Richter Fellowships are ordinarily awarded to juniors, but first-year students, sophomores and graduate affiliates are eligible to apply. More information and application are available on the Student Grants Database. The deadline to apply is announced by the Head of College Office in January.
Creative and Performing Arts (CPA) Awards are awarded at the beginning of each term to support on-campus dramatic, musical, dance, video or film productions, literary publications, and exhibitions in each residential college. The Head of College Office will announce process and deadlines to apply at the start of each term. Students in all years (first-year through senior) are encouraged to apply.
Ezra Stiles Senior Cups & Prizes (awarded at Spring Senior Dinner)
Richard B. Sewall Cup: The Head of College’s Cup, is awarded to a senior for outstanding scholarly achievement and creative promise.
Wilmanns-Lidz Cup: awarded to a senior whose presence has most clearly enhanced the morale of the College.
Ernest F. Thompson Cup: The Dean’s Cup, awarded to a senior for outstanding contributions to the life of Ezra Stiles College.
Herbert M. Atherton Cup: awarded to a senior man and woman for outstanding contributions to Ezra Stiles intramural athletics.
Heinrich von Staden Cup: awarded to the senior who most consistently challenged the social and intellectual conscience of the college during their time here.
John E. Linck, III Prize: dedicated in memory of a member of the Ezra Stiles Class of 1986, it is awarded to the senior who contributed most uniquely to the intellectual good of the college, and to the quality of friendship in the college.
Rita Lipson Cup: awarded to one or more seniors who have taken the best advantage of the opportunties offered by the college, as show by intellectual growth, personal maturity, and active consideration for others.
Paul H. and Brigitte P. Fry Cup: awarded to a senior who have made the greatest contribution to the arts in the College.
Camille Lizarribar Prize: awarded to a senior who have offered both support and enthusiasm to our community in ways that have enhanced the generosity of spirit that is so central to Ezra Stiles College.
